The Ambassador’s visit comes amid a growing need for collaboration and partnership.

MONROVIA –The German Ambassador to Liberia, His Excellency Ambassador Jakob Haselhuber visited SOS Children’s Villages National Office in Monrovia and toured other programmes facilities.

The visit aimed at knowing better SOS Children’s Villages in Liberia and discovering some of the programmes implemented by the organization. “This is my first visit here since my arrival in the country in 2021. And it is important for me to understand the work of the organization and to know some of the ongoing projects,” Ambassador Haselhuber remarked.

As part of the visit, the German Ambassador met the National Management and staff of the organization, as well as visited a family home and the enrichment program – where children and young people between the ages of 6 to 16 years are learning pastry, music, web design, arts & crafts, and sports.

For his part, Prosper Ndione, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages in Liberia, expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Germany for their continuous support to SOS Children’s Villages in Liberia through SOS Children’s Villages International.

“We are grateful to all our sponsors – including the Germans for providing support to children and young people in our programme,” says Prosper M. Ndione, SOS Children’s Villages in Liberia National Director.

Staff at the meeting with the German Ambassador made a collective call for partnership and increased investment in youth empowerment and family-strengthening programs.

The Germans have been consistent and important supporters of the SOS Children’s Villages programmes. Through the support of German sponsors, the organization in Liberia has been able to address the critical needs of children.
