From Monrovia to the World: A Girl with a Big Dream ✨

Meet Korpo, an intelligent young lady from Liberia whose journey began in a small classroom filled with big dreams. She started her early education in Liberia at the Herman Gmeiner International School in Monrovia, where her love for learning quickly stood out. With determination and support from SOS Children’s Villages in Liberia, Korpo earned a place at the prestigious SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College (HGIC) in Ghana, where she thrived academically and socially.

“SOS Children’s Villages have been supportive. The values-based education I received not only empowered me to dream beyond my limits, but also kindled a passion within me to achieve remarkable heights, says Korpo.

In 2025, Korpo proudly graduated from HGIC in Ghana — not just with pride and honors, but with a mission: to become a gynecologist. She aims to diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases related to the female reproductive organs while also providing preventive care and counseling.

“Essential social services, particularly healthcare, are crucial to our well-being and are a fundamental human right,” Korpo emphasized. “There’s nothing more rewarding than witnessing someone receive quality care and leave with a smile. It truly fills me with joy,” she adds.

Her journey is more than an academic achievement — it’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when opportunity meets passion.

“I want every girl to know her dreams are valid, no matter where she starts,” Korpo says with conviction.
