Meet Korpo, a bright young girl from Liberia whose journey began in a small classroom filled with big dreams. She started her early education in Liberia at the Herman Gmeiner International School in Monrovia, where her love for learning quickly stood out. With determination and support from SOS Children’s Villages in Liberia, Korpo earned a place at the prestigious SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College in Ghana, where she thrived academically and socially.
“SOS Children’s Villages and the Hermann Gmeiner International School have been remarkable beacons of hope in our lives. The values-based education we received not only empowered us to dream beyond our limits, but also kindled a passion within us to achieve remarkable heights, says Korpo.
In 2025, she proudly graduated from HGIC in Ghana — not just with pride and honors, but with a mission: to become a gynecologist and advocate for the health and rights of women and children in underserved communities.
“When people are provided quality healthcare and go home with smile, I get excited,” says korpo.
Her story is more than an academic achievement — it’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when opportunity meets passion.
“I want every girl to know her dreams are valid, no matter where she starts,” Korpo says with conviction.
